‘Rock’ by Amanda Ansell is exhibited as part of Contemporary British Painting, at Huddersfield Art Gallery. The exhibition opens on 1 November and runs until 14 March 2015.
The exhibition gives a glimpse into the dynamic and vibrant painting scene taking place in the UK today. Paintings on display, draw on contemporary subjects like engagements with the Middle East and the impact of mass media. Works also show a sustained interest in the advancement of abstract painting, responses to the landscape connected to environmental issues, a continued engagement with surrealism and the development of a new kind of non-specific representational narrative painting.
Entry to the exhibition is free and the gallery is open Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm and Saturday, 10am to 4pm. The exhibition is curated from the Priseman-Seabrook Collection of 21st Century British Painting.
